Fire Island & Long Island · Since 1981

Roofs built to take everything the ocean sends.

Salt air, driving rain and nor'easters are hard on a roof — and getting a crew and materials onto Fire Island is harder still. We've been doing both for over forty years.

What we do

Complete roofing, start to finish

From a single leak after a storm to a full tear-off and replacement — plus the flashing, chimney and gutter work that keeps a roof watertight.

Roof replacement & installation

Full tear-offs and new roofs on existing homes and new construction, with the deck inspected and repaired before anything goes back on.

Roof repairs & leaks

Leak tracing, patching and shingle replacement. Most leaks start at flashing and penetrations rather than the open field of the roof — we find the actual source.

Flat roofing systems

Flat and low-slope roofs on decks, dormers, additions and commercial buildings, detailed for standing water and wind uplift.

Chimney & flashing repair

Chimney repair, step and counter flashing, and servicing every protrusion through the roof — vents, pipes, skylights and hatches.

Gutter cleaning

Clogged gutters back water up under the shingles and rot out the fascia. We clear them and check the runoff path while we're up there.

Power washing

Roof, siding and deck washing to clear the salt film, dirt and organic growth that build up fast this close to the water.

Mold & fungal remediation

Treatment and prevention of the moss, algae and fungal growth that thrives in damp shaded areas and shortens a roof's life.

Storm damage

Post-storm inspections, emergency tarping, and the documentation you need when you're filing a claim with your insurer.

Materials

The products we build with

A roof is a system, not a pile of shingles. We work with manufacturers whose products hold up in a coastal wind zone — and we install them the way the manufacturer specifies, because that's what keeps the warranty intact.

Asphalt shingle systems

Architectural and three-tab shingles from GAF, Owens Corning and TAMKO, installed as a complete system — underlayment, ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, starter strip, ridge cap and ventilation.

Flat & low-slope membranes

Single-ply and modified systems from Firestone Building Products for flat roofs, decks, dormers and commercial buildings, detailed at every seam, edge and penetration.

Silicone roof coatings

Gaco silicone coatings restore an aging flat roof into a seamless waterproof surface — often for a fraction of a tear-off, and without the disruption of one.

GAF Certified Residential Roofing Contractor

GAF vets the contractors it certifies — licensing, insurance and a track record of proper installation. It also means we can offer manufacturer-backed warranty coverage on the systems we install, not just our own workmanship.

Our specialty

Roofing on Fire Island is a different job

A barrier beach with no roads is not a normal job site. Everything about the work changes out here — and a contractor who only works the mainland tends to find that out the expensive way.

  • Salt and wind. Constant salt spray and wind-driven rain punish fasteners, flashing and shingles far faster than they do inland.
  • Getting there. Crews and materials come over by ferry or barge, then move by cart. That takes planning, and we've been planning it since 1981.
  • Nor'easters and hurricanes. Roofs here get hit head-on. Fastening pattern, underlayment and edge detail matter more than which shingle you pick.
  • Seasonal timing. Most houses out here are summer homes. We schedule around your season and the ferry timetable, and we leave the site clean.
  • Elevated and oddly built. Piling foundations, decks everywhere, tight lots and narrow walkways — access is half the work.

About us

Forty-plus years on these roofs

Cee & Gee Roofing Co. Inc. has been roofing Fire Island and Long Island since 1981. We're a family business — not a franchise, not a call center. When you call, you talk to someone who has actually been on these roofs.

That longevity is the whole pitch. We know which details fail out here and which ones hold, because we've gone back and repaired plenty of both. Our name is on the work.
