Fire Island & Long Island · Since 1981
Salt air, driving rain and nor'easters are hard on a roof — and getting a crew and materials onto Fire Island is harder still. We've been doing both for over forty years.
What we do
From a single leak after a storm to a full tear-off and replacement — plus the flashing, chimney and gutter work that keeps a roof watertight.
Full tear-offs and new roofs on existing homes and new construction, with the deck inspected and repaired before anything goes back on.
Leak tracing, patching and shingle replacement. Most leaks start at flashing and penetrations rather than the open field of the roof — we find the actual source.
Flat and low-slope roofs on decks, dormers, additions and commercial buildings, detailed for standing water and wind uplift.
Chimney repair, step and counter flashing, and servicing every protrusion through the roof — vents, pipes, skylights and hatches.
Clogged gutters back water up under the shingles and rot out the fascia. We clear them and check the runoff path while we're up there.
Roof, siding and deck washing to clear the salt film, dirt and organic growth that build up fast this close to the water.
Treatment and prevention of the moss, algae and fungal growth that thrives in damp shaded areas and shortens a roof's life.
Post-storm inspections, emergency tarping, and the documentation you need when you're filing a claim with your insurer.
Materials
A roof is a system, not a pile of shingles. We work with manufacturers whose products hold up in a coastal wind zone — and we install them the way the manufacturer specifies, because that's what keeps the warranty intact.
Architectural and three-tab shingles from GAF, Owens Corning and TAMKO, installed as a complete system — underlayment, ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, starter strip, ridge cap and ventilation.
Single-ply and modified systems from Firestone Building Products for flat roofs, decks, dormers and commercial buildings, detailed at every seam, edge and penetration.
Gaco silicone coatings restore an aging flat roof into a seamless waterproof surface — often for a fraction of a tear-off, and without the disruption of one.

GAF vets the contractors it certifies — licensing, insurance and a track record of proper installation. It also means we can offer manufacturer-backed warranty coverage on the systems we install, not just our own workmanship.
Brand names and logos are the property of their respective manufacturers.
Our specialty
A barrier beach with no roads is not a normal job site. Everything about the work changes out here — and a contractor who only works the mainland tends to find that out the expensive way.
Kismet · Saltaire · Fair Harbor · Dunewood · Atlantique · Robbins Rest · Corneille Estates · Ocean Beach · Seaview · Ocean Bay Park · Point O'Woods · Cherry Grove · Fire Island Pines · Water Island · Davis Park — plus Long Island and Suffolk County.
How it works
Call us or send the form. Tell us the address and what you're seeing.
We inspect the roof in person and give you a written estimate — free, and no pressure.
We book the work around your season, the weather, and the ferry or barge schedule.
The job gets done, the site gets cleaned up, and you get a roof that keeps the water out.
About us
Cee & Gee Roofing Co. Inc. has been roofing Fire Island and Long Island since 1981. We're a family business — not a franchise, not a call center. When you call, you talk to someone who has actually been on these roofs.
That longevity is the whole pitch. We know which details fail out here and which ones hold, because we've gone back and repaired plenty of both. Our name is on the work.
